Inversion Temperature in the Separation of Isobaric C O Molecu les by Thermal Diffusion

چکیده
In specially constructed thermal diffusion columns separations between the isotopic mixtures 1 2 C 1 8 0/ 1 2 C 1 6 0 and 1 4 C 1 6 0/ 1 2 C 1 6 0 were measured at average temperatures ranging from T = 260 ° K to T = 465 °K . At temperatures above 320 ° K 1 4C 1 60 concentrates more strongly in the cold region than 1 2 C , 8 0 . Below this temperature the opposite effect is taking place: the thermal diffusion factor a ( 1 2 C 1 8 0 / 1 2 C 1 6 0) is greater than a ' ( 1 4 C 1 6 0 / 1 2 C 1 6 0) . All separations were carried out at temperatures for which the heavier molecule concentrates in the cold region.

Acetic acid Separation as a Function of Temperature Using Commercial Pervaporation Membrane
Acetic acid was separated from a dilute mixture using a commercial polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) membrane. Intrinsic separation characteristics of the membrane were studied as a function of temperature. The degree of membrane swelling decreased marginally with increase in feed temperature. At 25oC the maximum degree of swelling was found out to be 46.3%, which reduced to 39.5%...
متن کاملVertical Structure and Double Diffusion Convection of the Water Column in the Southern Shores of the Caspian Sea
Background and Objectives: Different types of instability occur at sea. Layered structures are one of the most important physical phenomena in marine environments. Static stability and double diffusion are associated with density changes with respect to depth and temperature and salinity gradients, respectively. Due to the difference in temperature and salinity in the water column, marine areas...
متن کاملMathematical Modeling of Gas Separation Process with Flat Carbon Membrane
Carbon molecular sieve membranes (CMSMs) have been considered as very promising candidates for gas separation, in terms of separation properties as well as thermal and chemical stability. Due to the numerous advantages and wide applications of carbon membranes, their application for gas separation is of special importance. Because of the importance of carbon membranes and a large number of stud...

Different models are discussed to interpret the presence of kyanite as a stable phase in contact aureoles especially in the andalusite-, sillimanite-bearing aureoles. In such aureoles the polymorphic sequence kyanite → andalusite → sillimanite can be explained in terms of an essentially isobaric path during which kyanite initially crystallises from the breakdown of pyrophyllite or more likely m...
